Hey, we're not going to shoot M.O.R.E. anymore due to the fact that I'm Racing now. I'll be getting rid of all the photos. But, before I do, I wanted to know if you wanted a CD of the photos we have at full rez for $100.00? You can E-mail me, or call me 702-768-4792.
Thanks,
Martee
Michele:
Well, what can I say but I'm going to miss you, but so so happy that you will be out racing. You go girl!

I think the big question for Martee that everyone would like to know is, are you going to stay with MORE and race this Series?
I would hate to loose such a great person and friend to another series.

To the Racing Community;
Sadly, “Radio Bob” Hynes founder of RLH Communications and “BFG Radio Relay” passed away late Friday afternoon August 15, 2008. Complications from pneumonia sent him to the big radio tower in the sky. He is survived by his wife Mary and children Kenny, Glen and Lori. Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized.
“Radio Bob”, the skinny little radioman with a voice larger than a gorilla provided radio communications for more than 28 years to the off-road racing community. Over the years, RLH Communications has provided radio equipment to thousands of race teams for all types of sporting events. Sometimes cranky, he was always willing to go the extra mile to help someone. Bob loved all types of racing events, but his favorite was the off-road races. He was so committed to helping racers, that he was giving orders from his hospital bed until last week.
As soon as funeral arrangements are determined we pass on the information.
PJC:
RIP Radio Bob!
Prayers for the strength fo your loved ones.
|
Art "The TECH DUDE":
We have lost a true friend to Off-Road racing. Radio Bob helped me get my first few radios. Bob was always here to help anyone who needed the help.
He always had a great story to tell me....I will miss my friend "Radio Bob" Hynes the voice of BFG!

Hi Everyone, My name is Kim Carpenter, I am a member of AMA/District 37. I am also a member of Rovers MC, Rescue 3 and I also provide medical/rescue services with Motorsports Medical the official medical provider for SCORE both in the states and in Mexico.
I have been active behind the scenes in the Johnson Valley (Lucerne Valley) land issues ie., Marine Corps expansion and proposed windmill project.
I am gathering information on behalf of the Partnership for Johnson Valley and have been invited to participate in the Lucerne Valley Economic Development meeting on September 2nd. This is where your help is needed. I am trying to gather as much info on how off-roading financially impacts Lucerne Valley. Think about the past six months and the times you have been out to Lucerne Valley. I need an estimate of how much you guys spend in gas, groceries, restaurant and misc expenses such as hardware store, water, dump fee's etc.
I need the BIG picture to present at this meeting. This info will then be forwarded to the powers that be who are initiating the Marine Corps expansion.
I will be making the same post on the Pirates and District 37 forums. Please only respond to me once. I want the dollar figure to be big but accurate.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and time. Hopefully, we will make a difference. Should you have any questions for me you can email me at carpentersa5k@msn.com
Thanks again,
Kim C.

Pulled from RDC off the "Save the Dezert" forum:
The first of what will likely turn out to be many meetings to deal with the Wilderness proposals that are depicted in the maps from Senator Feinstein's office, is scheduled for August 18, 2008.
The maps are available at http://www.pfjv.org/FWP.pdf
This will be a data collection and strategy session, as opposed to a meeting per se. Each of you is invited to bring your knowledge of the area's shown on Senator Feinstein's maps, and your suggestions for how, as a partnership, we can proceed to combat this proposal now, before it becomes a full-fledged bill, and in the future, should Senator Feinstein decide to move forward and submit a bill.
From what I was told already by Feinstein's staff, she has not committed to this bill yet, but rather that the proposal is being pushed by the California Wilderness Coalition.
The meeting will take place from 3 to 8 PM so that most can make it at some time during that time frame. The idea is to gather data from "desert experts" on each proposed wilderness area and then set up groups to work on the identified issues, similar to what we did with CDC. We can also set up our strategy for going forward. People with expertise in each area will then 'own' an area.
I expect that people may come and go during the 3 to 8 PM time period, I'll be there the whole time to facilitate the data collection.
I will have as many of the BLM Desert Access Guides as are available for review but please bring your maps also, so that we can combine all of the information. The more data that we can develop to counter the Wilderness proposal the better chance we have to defeat it now.
If you know of anyone that may want to, or can contribute to this effort to stop this proposed Wilderness before it goes any further, please let them know about the meeting, have them get in touch with me or collect the data and bring it to the meeting.
I want to collect as much information as possible and get it on the maps and in writing, so that we can figure out the best course of action.
Several of you have mentioned names of people that I should invite, but neglected to provide their contact information, please share this message as appropriate.
In the next week, I will send out additional information on the specific areas that the Senator is considering.
This Wilderness proposal is vastly different from what we faced in the S 21 days. With this proposal we are facing several different situations, in that it's a combination of converting existing WSA's to Wilderness, adding acreage to existing Wilderness, creating some totally new Wilderness and adding a couple Wild and Scenic rivers. It's a bunch of little (and not so little) pieces, it's the old divide and conquer tactic, and it's all our job to bring and keep everyone together.
The meeting will be held at:
J's Maintenance
3550 Foothill Blvd.
Glendale, Ca
Thank you and I welcome your participation.

Iam not scared to tell anyone that someone is cheating. I couldnt see the car number until I got home. I had to enlarge it to see the car number. The buggy was that far off course. As for paying people to tell on others , I would do it for free any day. It is a problem ,I dont get why someone would do what this guy did. I guess he thought it was Ok. I posted this to get a consensus (idea) of what everyone else thought .I guess I got that. I wonder if the MORE trailer has a SD card reader.I could have shown it to them there.
Thanks for removing the origonal reply. I was alittle hot at the time.

When do you say something about cheating?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At a recient night race I caught a buggy cutting across a valley and shortening his course. about 1/3 of a mile . I was busy with our own problems with our truck so I didnt run down and cry fowel ,I didnt hang around in the morning to go to the award ceramony. so I emailed the pics to the officials at the sactioning body. They agried the car cut the course and thus cheated. because it was after the ceramony there isnt much they can do .? . They forwarded the pics to the DOR with a letter of repramand. They say they did. Should they dock his time on the next race , Ironicaly his time shows he would have won anyway. Im not here to start a fight, I just want to do the right thing. And one more thing . Why cheat .?. its a race so run it right and win fair and square.....................
This is b.s. why are people so scared to turn in this kind of scum i just cant stand cheaters . rdc is going to give out cash for prof of cheating this could be anyones 1st place they are getting screwed out of TURN THEM IN . read more about this on rdc's web site thanks for taking the time to read this.

Art "IRON GUT" Savedra:
Hi everyone, I was a judge for the "chile cook off" a few years ago. It was a lot of fun tasting all the chile. You are going to need a judge who can eat all three meats, ChiCKEN Beef and PORK! And of course who can put up with the HEAT!
I know 569 will be bringing out Moms best Chile...it kicks butt in out neigherbood! And some chile sause for everyone to enjoy (not hot)
|
uffda:
Pat,
We will be at the race to support you. What can we bring to contibute to dinner?
BLM gave permission for race promoters to bulldoze the Barstow COURSE. I would assume that Bessimer Rd., would be under the same rule. Sierra Club would not help us get to an offroad race destination.
|
PJC:
Howdy Clare!
We are not planning to do the chuckwagon this race. Everyone is on their own. For Chili, my friend Greg will be cooking up a pot. I am sure the judges will like the heavy flavor of Jack Daniels, his main ingredient.
Mobtown will be at CP#1 like last year. See you there.

I would like to say THANK YOU to car owner and sponsor Brett Maurer, and to all of our friends and their families. It would not be a successful race team without all of them. Brett and I have the best pit support in the desert! Also, thank you to our sponsors Highland Roofing, WR Trans and Prep, BFG, Ameriprise Financial, Kartek,Tucker Tire, Redline, Fat Performance, F&L Fuel, MSD, King Shock, Weddle gears and Mobile Radio. Another great race put on by Jim and his MORE staff! Without rear brakes, start to finish, all of us came together as a team....total pit support and earned a 1st place finish. Brett had 3rd place after 3 laps and gave the car over to Brian Jeffries who had a ram bolt break on him and a flat, which pushed him back to 5th place. Watch out, Brett is getting faster every race. Thanks again to Brett for making this possible for our team to enjoy all of this together, can't say enough. Thanks for turning dreams into reality for all.
TO JIM, RON, MORE racers and all family...Everybody welcome to the 5th annual CAR NIGHT Thursday night, August 28, at WR Trans and Prep in Monrovia. 5:00 to when the fun ends. Buggies, race cars, custom VW's, classic cars and cool bikes. Fun for all. Come by and say hi and enjoy the show! See www.WRtrans.com for directions.
